Task Force statement on Secret Service Mission Assurance Summary

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump Chairman Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Ranking Member Jason Crow (D-Colo.) issued this statement after the U.S. Secret Service released its Mission Assurance summary into the agency's handling of former President Donald Trump's July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania:
“Complacency has no place in the Secret Service. But on July 13, complacency contributed to the death of one rally attendee, serious injuries to two others, and nearly took the life of former President Trump. We encourage Acting Director Ronald Rowe to follow through on his commitment to hold employees of the Secret Service accountable for the failures of July 13. We also expect him to continue cooperating with the Task Force’s ongoing independent investigation.”
